Alright, now let’s talk about the Weekly Faves:

SONG

Cinematic Orchestra - Arrival of Birds

I want to start this week’s favorites by sharing the soundtrack of my week. This song is one of the most magical tracks I’ve ever heard. Every time I listen to it, I get goosebumps all over my body and tears in my eyes. Yes, it touches me very deeply in my heart. Listening to it makes me feel like I have wings and I can fly anywhere I want. I do yoga to this song or sometimes just play it at work when I’m stressed out and it brings me back to the right frequency. Listen to it and let me know if you feel the same way I do.

ACCESSORY

Pearl-Twist Ring Wanderlust & Co (similar here

I’ve been loving my double pearl ring this past week - it’s such a statement piece! It’s classy, yet edgy because of it’s size. Also, it’s very photogenic. Every time I put it on, I want to take pictures of it, haha, hence all the photos with it on my Insta.

QUOTE

I personally couldn’t care less how famous or rich someone is. To me that doesn’t say much about who they are as a person. The most attractive quality I find in a human being is their charisma- this magnetic energy about them that draws people into their physical presense. That usually come from having an ability to connect and relate to people from all walks of life, the ability to be humble and graceful in any given situation. Mainly though, it’s their ability to treat and love every person they meet the same, regardless of who they are.

CLOTHING ITEM

Pencil Skirt ASOS

I love wearing pencil skirts, because they make me feel feminine, yet powerful. I only have a few pencil skirts in my wardrobe and I love them all. I recently found a new black pencil skirt on ASOS. I love how it’s made of very stretchy fabric which makes it flexible and extremely comfortable to wear around the office.

FOOD

Orange Cake

In my recent Vlog on “ How I host a dinner party” , I sort of showed you guys how I make one of my favorite desserts- the Orange Cake. It’s so simple to make and yet is extremely delicious. The cake is gluten, sugar and dairy free , but the great thing is you would never know, neither would your guest. You can tell them after they are done with the cake, haha! :)

Recipe:
For the cake:
2 large oranges
1/2 cup raw organic honey ( or maple syrup)
250g almond meal
4 free range eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda

For the syrup:
1 orange
2 tablespoons raw organic honey

Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius. Line a 20cm cake tin with baking paper.

Boil oranges in a saucepan of water for 1 hour (topping with water as needed). Allow to cool slightly before pureeing whole oranges, pips rind and all, in a food processor.

Beat eggs and honey together. Add baking soda and beat again. Then stir in orange puree and fold in almond meal.

Pour into cake tin and bake for 1 hour.

To make the syrup, zest one orange into a saucepan and pour in the juice. Add the honey and rosemary sprigs and boil for 5 minutes until the rosemary flavour infuses and the syrup has thickened slightly.

Turn cake onto a plate. Poke little holes all over the top using a needle. Spoon syrup over the cake. Serve warm or cold (nice with a dollop of cream).
